Moving house from Warsaw to Kraków
Swapping Warsaw for Kraków – for university, a new job or to be closer to family? We load your things in the capital or its suburbs and drive them to your new address in Lesser Poland.
Warsaw and Kraków are about 300 km apart, and most of the drive is on the S7 expressway. A loaded van usually needs 4–5 hours on the road, depending on traffic and the time of day, and that driving time counts towards your booking, just like loading and unloading. That is why this route is charged at the package's hourly rate: Mini is 195 zł/h, Standard 245 zł/h and Comfort, with packing, 300 zł/h. As the destination is outside Warsaw, the price in the form is an estimate, and a manager confirms the final amount by phone before the move. There is no flat fee per trip – it all depends on how much you have, the floors and how quickly things go on site.
Online you can book anything from 2 to 8 hours. For a studio with a quick load that often covers the whole trip, but moving a bigger flat down to Kraków can take longer. In that case, choose the maximum 8 hours and add a note on roughly how much you are taking – we will agree the rest by phone. Think about the Kraków end too: around the Old Town and Kazimierz the streets are narrow and access to parts of the centre is restricted, so the van cannot always pull up right outside. Check where it can park near your new address, and if it is a walk-up tenement, tell us the floor. The only possible surcharge is for the 5th floor or higher without a lift, always agreed by phone.
For a whole flat over this distance we usually send the Ford Transit L4H3 or the Iveco tarp truck – on a single long run, everything needs to fit first time. A studio or a student room fits easily in the compact Mercedes Sprinter. The price does not depend on the vehicle; we match it to your load, and if you send photos of your furniture on WhatsApp (+48 505 847 334), the estimate gets more accurate. Setting off early, before Warsaw's morning rush builds up, means unloading in Kraków while it is still light. Make sure someone is waiting at the new place with the keys, otherwise the crew cannot carry anything inside.
Practical tips
- Book enough time: loading in Warsaw, about 4–5 hours of driving and unloading in Kraków.
- If your new home is near the Old Town, check the access rules and where the van can stop.
- Carry documents, your laptop, jewellery and keys yourself, ideally in your hand luggage.
- No time to pack before a long drive? Choose Comfort, which includes packing.
