Movers in Śródmieście
A tenement on Hoża, a block in Muranów, an apartment in Powiśle or an office on Marszałkowska – in central Warsaw, a smooth move starts with a well-planned place to park.
Śródmieście probably has the most varied housing in the whole city. The Old and New Towns are lined with houses rebuilt after the war, Śródmieście Południowe – around Hoża, Wilcza and Poznańska – is full of pre-war tenements with high ceilings, and Muranów and MDM are a mix of post-war blocks and monumental 1950s buildings. Add to that the towers and new apartment buildings with a reception desk, an underground car park and a lift that often has to be booked with the building manager for moving day. High ceilings mean a third floor in a tenement is much higher than in a modern block, with more flights of stairs to climb. That is why Standard with two movers (490 zł / 2 h) is the most popular choice here.
The biggest challenge in the centre is finding room for the vehicle. In the paid parking zone the kerbs are packed, and in the Old Town car traffic is restricted, so there we agree with you in advance where the crew will carry from. Before you book, have a look at where the vehicle could stop as close to the entrance as possible – a lay-by, the courtyard of the building or the garage entrance. In an apartment tower, bear in mind that a van usually will not clear the barrier of the underground car park, so unloading happens at street level. If you do not have much to move, the compact Mercedes Sprinter finds a spot at the kerb more easily. Put all of this in the notes, and a manager will go through it with you when confirming by phone.
From the centre we move people in every direction: to Mokotów, Wola, Praga across the river, Ursynów or Białołęka, as well as to towns around Warsaw and other cities. When the other address is in Warsaw, you pay the fixed base rate – Mini 195 zł/h, Standard 245 zł/h, Comfort 300 zł/h, with a two-hour minimum. When you are leaving the city, the online price is an estimate and we confirm it by phone. We also move small offices and practices out of central tenements – these are best planned for the evening, when the streets are quieter and nobody has to stop working. Booking takes about a minute with no account, and you can then check its status under “My orders”.
Practical tips
- Check in advance where the vehicle can legally stop near your door – in the centre, that saves the most time.
- In an apartment building, ask the manager whether the lift needs booking and reception needs notice.
- In a pre-war tenement, give us the floor and say whether large furniture will make the turns on the stairs.
- Plan an office move for the evening, when there is less traffic in the centre.
Questions
How much does a move from Śródmieście to Mokotów or Wola cost?
Both addresses are in Warsaw, so the base rate is fixed. For the first 2 hours, Mini is 390 zł, Standard 490 zł and Comfort with packing 600 zł; each further started hour is billed at the package rate, and you can book up to 8 hours online. A surcharge is possible only for the 5th floor or higher without a lift, and it is agreed by phone.
What if there is nowhere to park outside my building?
Mention it in the notes and point out the nearest place where the vehicle can legally stop – a lay-by, a courtyard or a garage entrance. A manager will talk through access with you when confirming by phone. The crew will carry everything from the vehicle to your door, but the closer it can park, the faster the job goes and the fewer hours you pay for.
