Movers in Żoliborz

Narrow stairs in a pre-war tenement, a villa with a garden in Stary Żoliborz or a block in Sady Żoliborskie – our crew turns up ready for any of them.

Leafy streets, pre-war villas and interwar apartment buildings give Żoliborz a character that is hard to find anywhere else in Warsaw. On moving day, though, that often means steep stairs, no lift and tight turns on the landings. For a flat in a building like that we usually recommend the Standard package with two movers for 490 zł / 2 h, or Comfort for 600 zł / 2 h if you would like us to handle the packing too. For just a few pieces of furniture, Mini with one mover for 390 zł / 2 h is enough. If the other address is also in Warsaw, the base rate is fixed and you pay per started hour, with a two-hour minimum. A surcharge is only possible for the 5th floor or higher without a lift, and we agree it by phone.

Żoliborz is more varied than the postcards suggest, though. Around plac Wilsona and in Żoliborz Oficerski and Dziennikarski, villas and low-rise cooperative buildings dominate, often with a front garden and a gate onto the street. Sady Żoliborskie and Marymont-Potok are mostly communist-era blocks surrounded by greenery, with parking between the buildings. Then there are the newer apartment buildings with underground car parks and a reception desk. For a villa, tell us in the notes whether the van can pull up right at the gate; for a block, give the stairwell number and say whether there is a lift. On the narrow, tree-lined streets the crew sometimes has to park a little way from the door, so a clear description of the access and parking spot really does shorten the move.

The quickest ways out of Żoliborz are Wisłostrada along the river or ulica Mickiewicza towards the centre. Most Gdański takes you over to Praga-Północ and Targówek, but it can be badly jammed in the morning rush – for a move to the right bank, pick a later slot or choose “Any time”. We also often head next door to Bielany and further north to Łomianki. Once the other address is outside Warsaw, as Łomianki is, the price in the form is an estimate and a manager confirms the final amount by phone. We match the vehicle to your load: a studio fits in the Mercedes Sprinter, a two- or three-room flat in the Ford Transit, and a villa with a cellar and attic goes in the Iveco tarp truck. The hourly rate is the same whichever one we use.

Practical tips

  • In a walk-up tenement, give the floor and mention any tight turns or narrow doors on the staircase.
  • For a villa, say whether the van can pull up at the gate or has to stop on the street nearby.
  • Most Gdański is often jammed in the morning – plan a move to Praga for later in the day.
  • Got heavy old furniture? Send photos on WhatsApp and we will tell you how many movers you need.

Questions

I live in a tenement with no lift – will I pay more?

Up to and including the 4th floor there is no surcharge at all – you pay the normal package rate. An extra charge is only possible from the 5th floor up without a lift, and it is always agreed by phone, never added automatically. For narrow stairs we recommend the Standard package with two movers.

How much is a move from Żoliborz to Praga or Bielany?

That is a move within Warsaw, so the base rate is fixed: Mini 195 zł/h, Standard 245 zł/h, Comfort 300 zł/h, with a two-hour minimum. Crossing the bridge does not change the rate – only the time counts, billed per started hour.
