Moving from Warsaw to Białystok

Białystok is one of the closer big cities we drive to from the capital. The route is about 200 km, mostly on the S8 expressway, and a loaded van usually covers it in 2.5–3.5 hours, depending on traffic leaving Warsaw and the weather. Your booked time covers the driving as well as the lifting, so choose enough hours in the form for loading, the journey and unloading. For a studio or a smaller flat, the whole job often fits into the 8 hours you can book online. Because the destination is outside Warsaw, the price in the form is an estimate based on the package’s hourly rate, and a manager confirms the final amount by phone before moving day.

The capital of Podlasie draws students, families heading back to their home region and people starting a new job. The housing is what you would expect from a regional city: older tenements and blocks in the centre around Rynek Kościuszki and the Branicki Palace, large estates from the communist era further out, and newer gated developments with barriers and underground garages, plus detached houses, on the edges of town. Before we set off, check where the van can stop at your new address and put the floor, lift details and gate code in the notes. Make sure someone with the keys is waiting in Białystok, too – otherwise unloading is delayed while the clock keeps running.
